Rea’s race-winning prowess has been so immense that at the start of 2025 he has 56 race wins more than the next best rider. A tough first year for Yamaha in 2024 is all over now, as Rea sets out to find the form that secured him six titles.
A true product of the WorldSBK paddock in general, ‘VDM’ (as he is affectionately known) is now one of its most experienced riders, and a proven WorldSBK race winner as recently as last season. He has now won races for both Yamaha and BMW.

Een echt uithangbord van het WorldSBK-paddock is ‘MVDM’, zoals hij liefkozend wordt genoemd. Tegenwoordig is hij een van de meest ervaren rijders en een bewezen WorldSBK-racewinnaar, zelfs nog vorig seizoen. Hij heeft nu races gewonnen voor zowel Yamaha als BMW.
