Can a person’s accent change?
People got their accents from the places where they grew
up or spent an extended amount of time, so yes, naturally
an accent can change over the years. In a way, it is like a
collection of a person’s experience.
Because your accent tell a lot about you, sometimes the
British deliberately change their accents to fit in with the
crowd or they simply exaggerate their accent to show the
