Wimbledon
‘The Championships,
Wimbledon’ is the oldest
tennis tournament in the
world and the most
prestigious one. It is held
every year in June and
July at a district called
‘Wimbledon’ near London.
Out of all the four major
Grand Slam tournaments,
it is the only one that is
still played on grass
courts. All tennis players
are required to wear all-
white clothing during the
competition. It is also a
tradition that spectators
eat strawberries and
cream while watching the
