In the Late Modern English Period (1700-1900),
English grammar, pronunciation and spelling did not
change much from how they were in the Early Modern
English. However, there was a huge increase for the
vocabulary, as a result of two significant events.
One was Colonialism. And the other was the Scientific
and Industrial Revolution.
