NE METRO YOUNG PROFESSIONALS SERVES 16 FUTURE LEADERS IN 2021

VHEC is happy to share details about another successful year for the Northeast Metro Young Professionals ( NMYP ), a program the organization helped establish in 2017 . The year 2021 marked the 5th year in a row for the program that is offered to current young leaders , emerging leaders and leaders who are looking to move up in their careers .

Led by Nancy Hoglund , owner of Hoglund Coaching , LLC , the year-long NMYP cohort offers young leaders access to monthly programming , group discussions , networking opportunities , behind-the-scenes tours of local organizations and the ability to participate in community service projects that really make a difference for a lot of people .
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic , the programming started out virtually , but eventually the 16 participants were able to come together in person . Their first face-to-face meeting happened at Frandsen Bank & Trust . Other on-site visits included Merrick Inc ., IC System , Inc ., Buerkle Automotive Group and the White Bear Food Shelf . At each location , participants met with company leaders and learned all about what they do .
They also received group and oneon-one leadership training , and had numerous opportunities to interact with their peers . “ One of the things that made 2021 so special is that our group has evolved . As I continue to have relationships and continue working with people from the different cohorts , I ’ ve been able to bring back some prior NMYP members to co-lead us and to be guest speakers .”
Molly Weibel who went through the program in 2019 , is among the past participants who presented in 2021 . Weibel shared how the results from participating can come a year or two later . She also talked about how the program keeps giving and that you really get out what you put in . Molly Weibel is currently the Marketing and
Communication Manager at Lyric Arts .
Elena Glass , who participated in 2020 , was also a guest presenter in 2021 . Hoglund says she came back to share the message that changing direction in your career doesn ’ t make you a failure . Glass is the Production Manager at Lakeshore Players Theater
And Allison Johnson , Training and Development Manager for IC System , Inc ., shared how as a result of her participating in the program , she has now joined the White Bear Food Shelf Board of Directors and is now giving back in more ways .
