916 Career and Tech students are enrolled in yearlong coursework that is an extension of their regular school day that provides unique learning opportunities that they do not have in their home schools . 916 Career and Tech students gain a real competitive advantage through their access to over 20 career and technical specialty programs , led by fully CTE licensed teachers who utilize an array of up-todate , industry standard equipment .
In the state of Minnesota and the greater Midwest , 916 ’ s Diesel Truck and Engine Technology and Dental Careers programs are one of a kind . The 916 Career and Tech is launching its new Medical Careers Series , which will offer nursing assistant training to twice as many students as ever before . Additionally , students will be able to learn in our brand new welding and manufacturing lab .
Last year , over 4,800 college credits were earned that were recognized by a variety of postsecondary institutions . All programs offer portable credentials that help students gain immediate skilled employment and get them noticed when applying to college .
During the 22-23 school year , 916 Career and Tech will double the number of nursing assistants graduating from our programs and add a Phlebotomy certification program for seniors . Over $ 38,000 in scholarships were awarded last year by the 916 Foundation to 916 Career and Tech students . In the 916 Career and Tech program , students learn the skills to find employment and network with professionals in a variety of fields .
