So is the Surgical Technology program , which trains students in preparing patients for surgery , and assisting the surgeon and other operating room personnel .
“ Some of those programs also include an Associate Degree . Others are semester-based certificate programs ,” said Blomgren , who added that the college also has a partnership with White Bear Lake High School that exposes students to possible careers in healthcare ; and it hosts Scrubs Camp , a four-day summer camp for students entering Grades 9 – 12 .
“ This is a fantastic opportunity for youth to learn about the wide variety of careers available in healthcare . When students are 13 or 14 years old , they may say ‘ I want to have a career as a doctor or nurse ,’ but they don ’ t know there are so many other opportunities out there . The camp exposes them to a variety of possible careers in healthcare ,” said Blomgren .
The 2022 Scrubs Camp takes place July 25 through 28 , from 8 a . m . – 4 p . m . each day , on the Saint Paul College campus . Cost is $ 400 and scholarships are available . For more information , call 651-403-1800 or send an e-mail to continuing . education @ saintpaul . edu .
