2020 was a very challenging year personally and professionally for many in our local community and we ’ re looking forward to brighter days ahead in 2021 . Looking forward , the Board is focused on continuing our Business Retention and Expansion ( BR & E ) visits to understand how businesses in our community are surviving in the current climate , and to understand how VHEDC can help support them going forward .
Retaining our current Investors and attracting new businesses to join the VHEDC is another goal for the organization . Lastly , managing our financial resources and exploring new sources of revenue to allow VHEDC to continue offering our desired programs and services is another important focus area in 2021 .
About Scott Haupt
Board President Scott Haupt has served on the VHEDC Board of Directors since 2017 , and served as the organization ’ s Vice President in 2020 . He also serves on the
BR & E Committee , which has provided an opportunity to gain a broader knowledge of area businesses , and has previously served on the Golf Committee .
Haupt is a licensed Civil Engineer at Short Elliott Hendrickson ( SEH ) and serves as a Client Service Manager for the City of Vadnais Heights and other metro communities . SEH is a Vadnais Heights based consulting firm providing safer , more sustainable infrastructure solutions for their government partners , and helps industrial and commercial clients to meet their business goals .
SEH and its employees are very involved in serving the community through volunteering , participating and donating . Each year , the company and its employees raise money and awareness for cancer research , as well as collecting food and monetary donations to help support local food shelves in the communities SEH serves . SEH staff in the Vadnais Heights Office also volunteer at Feed My Starving Children each year .
