NORTHEAST METRO 916 MEETS STUDENT NEEDS WITH INNOVATION AND EXPERIENCE
Northeast Metro 916 is one of four intermediate school districts in Minnesota , serving nearly 6,000 students through shared programming that includes career and technical education , special education services , area learning centers and care and treatment . Through the sharing of resources , talent and ideas , Northeast Metro 916 provides costeffective , expert and reliable services to 13-member school districts and the students and families the district collectively supports .
District 916 serves some of Minnesota ’ s most unique learners . For some services , students are referred by their district of residence . For others , students and parents can choose to enroll directly .
Northeast Metro 916 Intermediate School District responds to the unique needs of students , educators , and school districts with innovation , quality and trusted experience . District 916 also offers a variety of other educational and administrative services , such as itinerant staffing services , staff development , conference center , testing and assessment services , student accounting and billing services , supplemental educational services , and professional services like document imaging , joint purchasing and fiscal agency services that help member districts to be more cost effective .
The Career and Technical Center in Northeast Metro 916 is among our many innovative programs . Over 900 students from 916 member districts are enrolled in at least one of the 20
available programs . The 916 Career and Technical Center truly gives its students the competitive advantage of career exploration , industry certification , early college credit and professional skills that prepare them for post-secondary success .
At Northeast Metro 916 , equity is a core component of all the work done , and is necessary to maximize the potential of each individual student , staff and family . The district believes equity is a continuous and challenging process in which all staff must work to recognize and reduce assumptions and biases to truly understand the needs and potential of those the district supports .
