Traveling Around Town
The METRO Green Line Extension will operate on a route from downtown Minneapolis through the communities of St. Louis Park, Hopkins, Minnetonka, and Eden Prairie. The line will include 16 new stations and will be part of an integrated
system of transitways, including connections to the
METRO Blue Line, the
Northstar Commuter Rail line, and many bus routes. At Target Field Station in Minneapolis, Green Line Extension trains will continue along the METRO Green Line, providing one-seat rides to the University of Minnesota, State Capitol area, and downtown St. Paul. Service for the Green Line Extension is expected to begin in 2027.
SW TRANSIT
Southwest Transit is the public transit agency for Chaska, Chanhassen and Eden Prairie, as well as Carver. Their busses and shuttles offer service to and from Downtown Minneapolis, the University of Minnesota, Normandale Community College and Best Buy Headquarters. In addition to their regular route service, SWT also offers a number of seasonal services, including State Fair, Twins Express, Vikings Express, Gophers Express, select concerts, and more. SWT also now offers SW Prime as a modern local service. To ride, you may request a ride through the smartphone app, indicate the location from which you want to be picked up and where you want to go and a shared ride will be sent to pick you up.
