A Moto2 champion as recently as 2021, Remy’ s lone MotoGP season did not quite go to plan. That would prove to be WorldSBK’ s subsequent good fortune. He’ s now competed in 100 WorldSBK races, even before 2026 starts. A solid 2023 led to his first podium finish and a fastest lap on the 2024 Yamaha R1. He had another podium last year and finished the season just outside the top ten. Another rider with a lot to prove in the 2026 season that sees so many changes of rider and team line-ups.

One of the most exciting new WorldSBK factory team signings for years, Olivera enters WorldSBK for the very first time as a fully-fledged MotoGP race winner. And not just once or twice, but five times in total. And not just at the same track or in the same country each time. He’ s won in Austria, Spain, his native Portugal, Indonesia, and Thailand. All his MotoGP wins have come on KTMs, and in 2026 his first WorldSBK experiences will be for another‘ German-speaking’ marque- BMW. There seems no reason why a rider of this level of proven talent cannot make an early impact, or even a truly sustained one, even in his‘ rookie’ season of WorldSBK racing.
