A rider who cut his racing teeth in the CIV and CEV national championships, Montella also had some Moto2 experience before joining the famous Kawasaki Puccetti Racing WorldSSP squad on a Kawasaki in 2022. Winning a race in his first year saw him snapped up by another Italian team for the next two seasons. Despite an injury that held him back in 2023, he shone as a genuine championship contender in 2024, winning seven races and only losing his overall second place in the dramatic final few races. After a tough WorldSBK rookie season in 2025, he has to find the kind of WorldSBK pace and consistency this year that his team obviously believes he has.

IKER LECUONA
Another Moto2 rider turned official WorldSBK team regular, Lecuona has completed four seasons in WorldSBK with the official Honda team. Now he has made a jump from one legendary marque to another. He’ s now an official Ducati team rider, at a time when a whole new Ducati is arriving on the scene to try and get back a World Championship it always considers its own- almost by right. Two podium finishes and one Tissot Superpole‘ win’( at Catalunya in 2022) are Iker’ s career best results pre-2026, but he should be in a position to ramp up those numbers on the new Ducati V4-R.
