By Gina Robins Inside a Day of Art, Courage, and United Strength
This past November, something remarkable happened at the Levine JCC. Over one hundred people gathered for Celebrate the TaTas: Stronger Together, a Hadassah Charlotte Metro initiative that turned a Sunday afternoon into a moving celebration of resilience, inspiration, and shared purpose. What began as a fundraiser for breast and ovarian cancer research became an uplifting day to remind our community what it looks like to show up for one another.
From the Beautiful TaTas painting experience to insightful speakers, genetic testing resources, local vendors, generous donors, and the Levine JCC’ s Build-A-Bouquet craft, the event was alive with color, compassion, and connection. Survivors and supporters alike stood side by side, creating an atmosphere that felt less like a program and more like a warm, collective embrace

A day like this is never the work of simply one organization alone but rather the combined result of many hands and giving hearts. Hadassah Charlotte Metro is grateful to its countless partners, volunteers, and supporters, who gave their time, talent, expertise, empathy, and creativity to make Celebrate the TaTas not only possible, but deeply meaningful.

Finally, we would like to honor the incredibly brave women who participated in the Beautiful TaTas painting experience. Their names remain private, but their courage was the heartbeat of the day.
Celebrate the TaTas was not simply an event. It was a powerful reminder of what community looks like at its absolute best: caring, creative, compassionate, and aligned in the belief that healing is possible when we face challenges together.
We share the names and stories of community members whose memories remain a blessing.
