AWARDS

The Tissot-Superpole Awards are given out at the end of the season to the riders from the WorldSBK , WorldSSP , WorldSSP300 and WorldWCR classes who score the greatest number of points in the Tissot-Superpole qualifying sessions . There is one important exception . For the headline WorldSBK category only there are also points awarded based on results of the ten-lap Tissot-Superpole sprint races , which take place on Sunday mornings . The Tissot Superpole awards are a strong incentive for riders to perform well even pre-race .
BLUE FLAG : tells a rider he is about to be overtaken .
YELLOW FLAG : waved at each row of the starting grid to indicate that the start is delayed .
A SINGLE YELLOW FLAG : waved at the flag marshal post it indicates that there is danger ahead .
TWO YELLOW FLAGS : waved together at the flag marshal post indicates that there is a hazard wholly or partly blocking the track . The riders must slow down and be prepared to stop - and no overtaking .
YELLOW AND RED STRIPED FLAG : adhesion on this section of the track could be adversely affected by any reason other than rain - oil spills or debris , etc .
WHITE FLAG WITH DIAGONAL RED CROSS : drops of rain on this specific section of the track affecting the track surface . Must be waved at the flag marshal post .
WHITE FLAG : Rain at some parts of the circuit .
RED FLAG AND RED LIGHTS : when the race or practice is being interrupted , the red flag will be waved at each flag marshal post and the red lights around the track will be on . Riders return slowly to the pits .
BLACK FLAG : used to convey instructions to one specific rider , together with the rider ’ s number . The rider must stop at the pits at the end of the current lap .
BLACK FLAG WITH ORANGE DISK : the rider in question ’ s motorcycle has mechanical problems likely to endanger himself or others . He must immediately leave the track .
CHEQUERED FLAG : finish of races or practice sessions .
The Pirelli Best Lap Awards are earned by the riders in the WorldSBK , WorldSSP , WorldSSP300 and WorldWCR categories who are the most successful at securing the fastest laps in their respective classes . Pure pace over one lap is the aim here . Should two riders share the same total of fastest laps after the final round , the rider with the most Lap Records that year will be adjudged the winner . In the WorldSBK only the full-distance Race 1 and Race 2 results count towards the coveted Pirelli Best Lap Award outright .

POINTS SCORING RULES

Through all WorldSBK classes the points awarded for each finishing position inside the top 15 of a full race are the same . If less than 2 / 3rds of the planned race distance has been completed then only half-points will be scored . For a full race the points awarded are 25 for a win , 20 for second , 16 for third , 13 for fourth , 11 for fifth until only one point is awarded for 15th place . In the ten-lap WorldSBK-only Tissot-Superpole race points are awarded in 12 for the win , 9 for second , 6 for third , down to 1 point for ninth .

NON-WORLDSBK QUALIFICATION CHANGES

For the WorldSSP , WorldSSP300 and new WorldWCR classes Tissot Superpole qualifying will take place on Friday , but with each Race One taking place on Saturday , as per 2023 . Qualifying on a Friday is a new idea for 2024 in the Supersport classes . The fastest laps set in Race One in the two Supersport categories and in WorldWCR will be used to determine the top nine positions on the grids for Race Two on Sunday . The rest of the grid will form up based on Friday ’ s Superpole qualifying ranking .
