Letter from Ryan Benson , 2022 Board Chair
To Our Fine Chamber Members :
As a banker for more than 25 years , I have come to learn just how important small business is to a healthy community . It is the engine of our local economy- not only providing essential goods and services , but also providing good paying jobs to local citizens .
Where our members separate themselves from other communities is a tenacious commitment to the health of the St Croix River Valley . This has become apparent in my tenure as the board chair of the Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce over these past two years . I am constantly ( and pleasantly ) surprised at the level of engagement our members provide to this community . Whether it is donations to local non-profits , volunteering at community events , or just showing up to partake in annual celebrations , our chamber members are “ hands on ” in making our cities , and our chamber , grow and flourish .
Your Chamber of Commerce feels the love ! We understand that the best way to bolster economic growth is to take care of the engine that is small business . Through programs like Leadership in the Valley , Women ’ s Business Bridge , and Hype to name just a few , your chamber is committed to finding ways to support all facets of local business .
We go further . With a dedicated staff , quarterbacked by our Executive Director Robin Anthony , the COC is always on call to answer questions , provide assistance , and partner with business in order to provide guidance and solve problems . Have a question ? Just give them a call . They are truly the greatest !
I have lived in the St Croix River Valley my entire life . What a pleasure and honor it has been to chair an organization the remains in lock step with our local business community to improve the lives of our citizens and the community . Thank you for your membership to this organization- and thank you for all you do to protect and enhance this place that we call home .
