Do not pull the tape tight; hold it lightly against the skin. STEP 1 - Locate Landmarks: 1. Encirle leg with top edge of tape measure located at the Bottom of Patella. Mark leg on this edge of tape at the anterior, medial, posterior and lateral aspects, and record the circumference on the line labeled Bottom of Patella. 2. Encircle leg with the bottom edge of the tape measure aligned at the Ankle Bend. Mark leg on this edge of tape at the anterior, medial, posterior and lateral aspects, and record the circumference on the line labeled Ankle. 3. Encircle leg with bottom edge of tape measure immediately above the shelf, making certain the tape is parallel to the floor. Mark leg on the bottom edge of tape at the anterior, medial, posterior and lateral aspects of the leg to establish a 0 point, and / / record the circumference on the line labeled 0 Point. STEP 2 - Locate Circumference Measurement Positions: / 1. Starting with “0” of the tape measure at your mark on the lateral aspect of the 0 Point, mark the leg in 5cm incremements up to your mark on the lateral aspect of the Bottom of Patella. STEP 3 - Measure Lengths: 1. Anterior Length (A): Measure leg from your mark on anterior aspect of 0Point to your mark on anterior aspect of Bottom of / Patella. Record length on Line A in the Lengths Above 0 column. / 2. Anterior Length (A1): Measure leg from your mark on anterior aspect of 0 Point to your mark on anterior aspect of Ankle. / / Record length on Line A1 in the Lengths Below 0 column. 3.
