What does Black History Month (BHM) mean to you and why is it important to celebrate BHM?
It is a moment to reflect and pay homage to our ancestors on whose shoulders we stand and imagine a future beyond their wildest dreams.
Black Health and Wellness for me starts with being kind to yourself and knowing that you are enough.
What comes to mind when I say the words black joy to you?
Family for me is joy, and we, as black people, are family. We are connected by an indelible spirit and energy that is powerful, beautiful and joyous.
What Black creators, organisations, or movements inspire/empower you?
I'm inspired by the Organisation of African Unity. Although they never fully realised their dream, I imagine what it must have been like sat among those African intellectual giants who dared to imagine a new vision of what a post-colonial Africa could be.
What is your favourite Black TV show? Or your favourite Black talent in TV and why?
A Different World. It was 90s US sitcom based in a fictional HBCU (Historic Black College and University). Seeing a Black university with all that excellence was inspirational for me. It made me want to be there.
What do you enjoy about your job?
I love the variety of work I do - from creating motion graphics to digital design and print. Every day I get to imagine and create. What could be better than that?
Develop your craft. Be great at what you do. Be fearless. The world is yours.
