It’s also World Mental Health Day in October. What does “Black Health and Wellness,” mean when considering mental health?

It means taking into account that Black people have had to struggle and fight for many years and it feels that this trauma that we still go through today is easily dismissed as just another unfortunate occurrence, but it’s important to consider how viewing all these traumatic experiences can affect each mind differently.

What comes to mind when I say the words Black Joy to you?

Black Joy to me is being happy in the skin you’re in.

What Black creators, organisations, or movements inspire/empower you?

As a football fan, Raheem Sterling has long been a big inspiration for me.

What is your favourite Black TV show or character?

There are so many that it’s really difficult to pick one. The most recent show I watched that was both powerful and enjoyable is US series All American featuring British actor, Daniel Ezra.

What do you enjoy about your job?

I enjoy communicating with international clients and seeing how different countries adapt our formats for their territory.

What are your top tips for Black talent in TV to get ahead in the industry?

Be confident, trust yourself and there’s nothing wrong with faking it ‘til you make it if you have the self-confidence to pull it off!

Being nervous or anxious is normal, it just shows it’s important to you (just plan accordingly and then trust yourself).

Please don’t limit yourself because you think that the colour of your skin may produce barriers.
