The above scenario would bring serious issues to us at Boohoo and our distribution channel.
Firstly how would this affect us in the UK? This would have the most significant effect on head office and delivery staff. It would mean that the workload for our staff is really high, which in turn may cause an increased level of stress within our members. As these members of staff have many jobs and deadlines they may not complete their work to a high standard and make simple errors that could have easily been prevented with more humans working.
Staff may become tired and de motivated and again not perform to their highest standard. This could lead to poor variety of stock and a poor range, which would have a negative impact on our sales. Customers would also be less satisfied and not receive the customer service that they need or desire.
If staff were limited in China it would mean that our production times are far slower, and this could cause delivery delays, missed sales and decreased profits. As working regulations in China are less strict staff may be made to work longer hours, which will damage their working spirit, again performance may be weakened.
Customers deliveries could also be slower or held up if we cannot hire enough staff to deliver our orders, which again would lead to dissatisfaction.
