Message from the Chief Education Officer - Mrs. Kay Martin-Jack

Those of us who sit in senior management positions, understand all too well, how critical it is to have all the right information at our finger tips to help us to make informed decisions which are likely to impact thousands of people.  This year's statistical digest, is one such piece of information which ought to be consulted before making any decision on educational policies or educational needs and wants that are geared towards propelling the education sector forward.  The world has and continues to change rapidly.  We must adapt to these changes in order to make our people marketable.  The digest is therefore likely to be beneficial to all of our stakeholders including: government departments, non-governmental agencies, regional and international partners, funding agencies, universities, schools, parents and students.

It is my pleasure to invite you to examine the contents of this year's report and use the information to help you to articulate a position on the way forward for yourselves and others. If we are to truly experience the transformative nature of education, then we are to always be in a state of evaluating our circumstances, monitoring our resources and measuring our output.  If done efficiently, we hope that our education sector produces persons who may be deemed as ideal Vincentian citizens, citizens who are conversant with modern trends and who are able to traverse the challenges which our global village presents.  Let us continue to think about ways we can change our approach to better our educational outcomes.

I hope you find the information within valuable.
