Delphi was an ancient Greek shrine and oracle at Phocios under Mount Parnassus; center of Greek culture and belief.
Archaeological excavations from the end of the 19th century revaled a huge complex of Apollo's shrines surrounded by ramparts, theater, treasuries, town hall, porches, etc.
