Community Consultation

On 7 April 2021, the community and school leaders of Preak Trob met to discuss their contribution to the construction of Preak Trob Primary School. The objectives of this meeting were to present the school budget and construction building plans (two classrooms and two toilets rooms) to the school leaders and community and to discuss a 10% school contribution for the school construction building.

During this meeting, the School Director, the School Support Committee, and the Commune Council members agreed to raise funds to contribute to the construction process of the new school. The result of the meeting was an agreement that the community would raise 7-10% of the building costs (roughly 2,400 USD) of the school by:

• Village fundraising

• Hosting fundraising meetings to gather money from the community

Funds raised by the community will go towards:

• Repairing the school gate

• Repairing the playground

• Providing soil for the groundwork of the toilet and school buildings

• Organising the school opening ceremony

Note: The community of Preak Trob raised roughly 2823 USD and the school committee team provided soil for the ground working process of the new school building. The teachers and School Director at Preak Trob Primary School have painted the old school building and repaired the school gate and fence.
