As with all our projects, we encourage the community to participate in the construction process. This involvement gives the community a sense of pride and ownership, which means they will better look after the building and ensure sustainability. For this school building project, the community contributed by building the school fence to keep farm animals from damaging the property, preparing the construction site, and filling the building foundation. The community will also help organise the school opening ceremony when Covid-19 restrictions change. The school and community were also very successful in fundraising US $2823. Donations came from community people, teachers, and other schools in the cluster.
