INTRODUCTION OF THE ACTIVITY
Reading is one of the 4 skills in foreign language learning process. The aim of the activity is to let the students get control of their own learning. It is a collaborative activity.
We ask questions and brainstorm about Reading Strategies/techniques with students. They talk about how to read and understand more effectively. Then, teachers in teams prepared online presentations in collaboration.
Then these presentations and reading comprehension activities are used in English classes. For example, Extensive, Intensive reading are introduced and scanning and skimming activities are performed. This event already includes the usual process in our classes. We want to raise awareness of our students and to raise awareness about related techniques and increase their fluency and success in reading.
The suggestions of students are taken as outlines of the presentations Teachers added details. All presentations are used in each partner school.
