Out of nowhere, loud footsteps were heard. The truly terrified boys turned around and saw the tall and broad figure that Simon had seen not that long ago. The monster was slowly but loudly approaching. The boys tried to get as far away from the strange creature as possible. Walking backwards, they felt their warm backs hit the solid and frigid verglas. As fear took over their entire bodies, young men closed their eyes and hoped for a miracle. Instantly, they heard a loud thump. It was the monster, laying on the ground unconscious because an icicle hit it. The boys’ hearts were beating fast, and the fright disappeared.
They walked around the monster and ran into the darkness from which the monster had appeared. Simon and William ran until they couldn’t feel the solid ground. Slipped and fell into an icy, slippery slide. The slide didn’t take a while because they immediately felt the hard ground hit their backs. There was a light sparkling in the distance. The two boys tried to reach the blaze. The closer they got to it, the more it smelled like fresh air. They finally left the caves of Mount Everest and felt freedom again. Trying to catch their breaths, they saw a sight that looked like a campsite.
