How did you choose your specialty?

The stimuli i had from a very young age were too many. My father worked as an engineer in one of the largest factories in Drama. In our house we had a workshop with a lot of tools. In the summers i remember myself being next to my father and repairing machines. My hands trusted me and in a short time the machine was working again. I loved assembling to deconstruct and construct again my own toys. I liked the constructions, the static modeling and the design. Growing up i knew what i wanted to study.

Why did you decide to become a teacher?

After my studies as an Mechanical Engineer I sought to become a teacher. I continued my studies at the University to become a teacher

and for 22 years I have been doing what I love. I have been teaching Engineering to young students and my children. I like to impart knowledge. As a Mechanical Engineer I had many professional prospects and with better salaries. But the love for the teaching profession and not the material rewards led me to choose this profession.

Did the profession help you in your private life?

In many sectors, simple and complex. Starting from the simple things, you learn e.g. how your children's toys work. I can repair faults in my house and even create some constructions that I could not find in shops. Physics and Engineering help you understand how complex things work, e.g. the function of the human’s heart is based
