He entered in 1997 at the age of ten in the lower categories of F. C. Barcelona. He would start in grassroots football in the first of the categories that existed at that time: AlevÃn B.

In Cadet B, precisely, he had Tito Villanova as coach, whom he met on his return to Barcelona.

Neymar combined his love for futsal with street soccer, and from a very young age he attracted the attention of big soccer teams.
In 2003, he moved with his family to São Vicente, where he began playing for the Portuguesa Santista youth team.
At just eleven years old, Neymar was signed by Santos, one of the most important Brazilian teams.
Renowned for his speed and dribbling skills. He quickly began to stand out in the lower categories, so much so that Real Madrid took an interest in him in 2005, although in the end they did not reach an agreement.
At just seventeen years old, he made his professional debut on March 7, 2009, a week later he scored his first goal for Santos against Mogi Mirim. A month later, on April 11, Neymar scored the decisive goal in a 2–1 win against Palmeiras in the first leg semi-final of the 2009 Campeonato Paulista.
