Concluding Note

Ceres, the goddess of agriculture and the harvest. The Greeks knew her as the goddess Demeter.

Fall, autumn, the close of the year - it is the harvest season. The ancient peoples knew the importance of storing up the harvest - the Romans built great horrea to store their grain. Just like the Romans toiling in agrīs, we have toiled in the classroom...at our desks...in our cars before school. But the question is: will we squander it all at midterms and then forget it? Or will we, like good Roman farmers, keep our classical knowledge whole and safe from the vermin of idleness and lethargy? Coming up in the spring is state convention, and then in the summer, national convention. So, amīcī, keep your Latin knowledge strong for another great year of classical civilization!
