Major general Petrovsky, also known as "Bad Soldier" or "Khmury", head of Intelligence and Specops Agency of Donetsk People's Republic was in charge of work to solve the problem of Donetsk airport until the late September.
With numerous subversive operations he made Ukrainian troops there bleed out and dramatically reduced the number of Ukrainian artillery. However, Ukrainian government used the ceasefire signed in Minsk in September to send there more and more of new troops.
After the last preparation strikes by the Bad Soldier, task of taking the airport was assigned to Givi, already famous for stopping Ukrainian troops at Ilovaysk.
So the full-scale assault at the Donetsk airport started.
Soon after the operation started, Motorola's unit, already familiar with Givi's men for fights in Ilovaysk, arrived to enter the airport jointly with Givi's battalion "Somali".
Taking airport hotel, police department, parking, NAF troops apporached terminals from the flank.
Getting numerous injured and several men killed, "Sparta" and "Somali" have seized positions at the airport and entreched there. The difficulties haven't stopped these men, almost all injured soldiers of "Somali" and "Sparta" retrun to the airport after recover, but this time already at its defenders.
In result of fights both old and new terminals of the airport have been turned into ruins, Ukrainian artillery keeps shelling airport area as well as nearby residential quarters heavily from Peski and Avdeyevka, however "Sparta" and "Somali" hold positions there repelling numerous armored attacks of Ukrainian troops. By the moment this text is written, the only prat of the airport where Ukrainian troops have their position is the dipatcher tower, however they keep losing personnel and vehicles conducting risky daily rotations in desperate attempts to hold at least something there.
