3. She balances her ruthlessness with caring. Artemis is famous for her attachment to her mother, Leto. Immediately after she was born, she assisted her mother with her twin brother’s (Apollo’s) birth. She extends this care to all Greek women as well, as the goddess of childbirth. We love our moms and are all for women who care about other women’s welfare.

4. Think she’s cruel for her punishments? Demeter starved the earth because no one could help her find her missing daughter. Athena killed Laocoön because he was on the side of the prince that deemed Aphrodite more beautiful than she (technically a Roman myth, but it still counts). Apollo killed his pregnant mistress for cheating on him. In short, literally all of the gods are cruel, petty, and vindictive. It’s unfair to single Artemis out for a negative trait that all of the gods have.

5. Aside from childbirth, Artemis is the goddess of hunting and the moon. She’s one of the best (if not THE best) hunters ever. I also love the moon and the night. It’s quiet and peaceful and serene and romantic, which is totally my vibe! Also, just looking at the night sky with all of its galaxies and stars and POSSIBILITIES, and feeling so small and inconsequential in the face of it all— I dig it.
