What do you think is the most important celebration in the United States?
For me and many like me, it is called Juneteenth. Juneteenth, the official name of the federal holiday Juneteenth National Independence Day, also called Emancipation Day, Freedom Day, Jubilee Day, Black Independence Day, and Juneteenth Independence Day, a holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States, observed annually on June 19, 1865.
Later that same year, in December 1865, the ratification of the 13th amendment formally abolished slavery in the United States.
All the students were delighted with the answers from Cinda, and now the interview is finished.
