Experience Royal Troon
One of the great links courses in Scotland , the Old Course at Royal Troon will host The Open Championship for a tenth time in 2024 . A gentle opening few holes and a relatively straightforward closing stretch are the bookends for a series of holes which weave up , round and through some of the most striking linksland . Accurate shot making is essential .
Originally designed by Willie Fernie , winner of The Open Championship in 1883 , the Portland Course was opened in 1895 and subsequently redesigned by Dr Alister MacKenzie in the early 1920s . Although a little shorter than its illustrious neighbour , the beautifully manicured Portland Course provides a true links challenge for any calibre of golfer .
