World Tourism Day Celebration
As every year, the Bachelor of Business in Tourism and Hospitality Management celebrated the World Tourism Day. This opportunity, it was about a remote event on Facebook Live, under the theme: “Tourist Vision: The reopening of Cartagena de Indias”.
The main speakers of this celebration were: Gustavo Toro, National Executive President of the Colombian Hotel and Tourism Association - Cotelco, Guillermo Gómez, National Executive President of Acodres, Irving Pérez, Executive President of Corpoturismo, and Juliana Alvarado and Camila Perdomo from Cartagena Convention and Visitors Bureau.
All the academic comunity of Unicolombo had the opportunity to know the strategies that are being implemented in Cartagena in order to face the challenges of the new normal.
According to the speakers, both private and public sectors are working together, applying new technologies to guarantee the biosafety protocol optimal performance, issued by the Ministry of Health.
Finally, they explained the importance of potentiate ecotourism in Cartagena, as a new option for the new normal. Tourists will be able do and many green attractions will be adequate. It represents an important advance for the local tourism sector.

This celebration demonstrated that the pandemic was not an impediment to let the Unicolombo's academic comunity know the strategies for the new normal.
