ink & Blue is an interactive, and ever-changing online magazine that we hope can help parents — and others who interact with children — understand the impact and importance of the toys and playthings in children's’ lives. We are of the opinion that we do not need to have an opinion, and feel that nobody needs to have one, about others’ children and how they are raised. However, we believe that free play, along with the understanding that toys are for learning and not just defining gender roles, are important. We think parents should know this and that children should be able to choose what they play with and how they play, inside of parental guidance and parameters. We also think that many toys and playthings are becoming more and more gendered, and that this isn’t fair for those children who want to go outside of society’s girl or boy boxes in regards to what they play with. Pink & Blue is for any kid, and any parent, who wants to know how others are helping their kids play with what they want and be what they want. Whether a boy wants to play with dolls, or a girl with tools, it shouldn’t matter. But why does this matter? Why does help in shaping the development and future of a child? Read on and find out. We welcome you and anybody else, because this is for those who like pink and blue.

Why the extreme gendering of kids toys can be a problem
A more in-depth look at why gendering of children's toys can be dangerous and what parents and others need to know about the impact toys and other playthings have on a child's future.

We are about seeing kids and their parents happy. And most kids are happy when they just get the chance to be who they want to be and do what they want to do. We believe in education, and that girls can be bakers and scientists, and that boys can be police officers and nurses.
