HOW ONE SCHOOL OPENS DOORS FOR AN ENTIRE COMMUNITY?
Edward and his cousins used to be in danger every time they walked to school from their village of El Trapiche, Nicaragua. The only path followed weather-worn cliffs and swamps that overflowed in the rain. The 12-year-old once had to save his cousin from drowning in a flash flood that dragged her into a river. Now, with new, safe classrooms in his hometown, Edward spends his days focusing on learning, not the walk home. And it’s not just him—children throughout his village can share the dream of education.
