This chapter addresses the spending on education within the OECS territories. The national budget of the OECS territories is at 6.07 billion dollars; based on data provided 15% of that budgeted amount is allocated to education. The figure below shows how spending in the sector is subdivided among the different level of education throughout the territories.

The data show only 2% of funds goes to early childhood education and special education whereas secondary education receives the largest amount of the funds.  As a region, on average, 15% of the budget and spending. As a percentage of the GDP, collectively it is about 2%. Further, the level with the highest cost per child is at the secondary level.

Additionally, the data shows Member States spend between the range of 2.37 million and 8.47 million dollars on education. The diagram below depicts spending by the various islands.
