Chinese is definitely a fun language to learn for me since my parents speak Chinese; along with all of my relatives. As a child, I was never able to understand my grandparents or distant relatives without my parents translating for me; and even then, I was still unable to properly respond in Chinese. Now, I know how to form basic conversations with my parents, I can somewhat comprehend and even respond to my grandparents, and I can even converse amongst my friends who also take the class. It's so refreshing to know that I am learning a valuable skill and being able to make conversation with my family is a huge step up from before. In the future, I hope to be able to become fully fluent in Chinese. That way, I can visit China and explore with my family, without the trouble of a language barrier getting in my way. - Eric
