Molly Burke

When Molly Burke was 4 years old, she was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa. Her sense of seeing was taken away from her, but not completely. Molly has inspired lots of people with her life story, because she had began public speaking since she was 5 years of age, as an ambassador for the Foundation Fighting Blindness Canada. Molly as a student she had some struggles, being bullied and suffered from depression. She needed a lot of courage to get where she is right now, to overcome her challenges.

Molly was awarded with amazing prizes for her hardship. In 2009, she was awarded the Oakville YMCA Peace Award for developing the community. She ran with the Paralympic torch at the winter games, she won the title of Miss Teen Canada International 2010, and there was more.

Like a normal person, Molly to do different kinds of hobby. Molly likes to horseback riding, crafting lyrics, etc.

One of her messages is - that any challenges in life, whether it’s bullying, mental illness or loss of vision can be overcome-resonates is powerful.
