Science Teacher Saves Exotic Pet

Mr. Troxell is a science teacher at Livingston American School in Shanghai. He found and brought a gecko into his classroom in order to teach his students more about living organisms in our environment. He prepared an insect cage with plenty of soil in it as a habitat.
“I found a gecko outside in the field when I had a meeting during environmental science class,” said Mr. Troxell, the biology and environmental science teacher at SLAS.
Mr. Troxell started taking care of the gecko before October break began. He prepared an insect cage that has plenty of soil, water, leaves, and small trees in order to give the gecko a more natural environment. The gecko usually stays inside the soil and doesn’t come up, but it is still alive with enough nutrients.
“I thought a gecko would help my students in biology and environmental science class to learn more about life of organisms,” Mr. Troxell asserted.
As a science teacher, Mr. Troxell started feeding a gecko in an insect cage with plenty of nutrients, so that his students can gain more knowledge through experiences of having a gecko.

Forms of School Punishment

There are many forms and types of punishment in schools. Some punishments are completely fair for a student’s certain action, but sometimes the punishments can go too far. In most schools there are common punishments like detention and suspension. But some other schools still have corporal punishments.
SLAS student, Woo-Hyun answered the question “Would you say that most punishments today are fair?” by stating, “I do think so. Students have to be punished in some way for their bad actions.”
Most schools today have banned and made corporal punishments illegal. Corporal punishments are painful and violent ways of discipline in which the teacher often hits a student with an object. One of the most common forms of corporal punishment is spanking. A few schools in the world do allow those types of punishments in certain countries. Thankfully most schools ban it now.
Woo-Hyun stated, ”I would go to the principal and let her know, because it’s wrong and illegal.” As an answer to the question “What would you do if a teacher performed a corporal punishment on you?”
Corporal punishment should completely vanish from this world and people should get it out of their heads. We should all just stick with traditional punishments where no one needs to get hurt.
