The sadness was rather contagious and everyone had a different way to cope with it. Some turned to intoxicants, some made art, others got used to it, but one little boy, in particular, named Storky, coped with it a little bit differently.
Storky was an eight-year-old boy, seemingly as ordinary as the town itself, living in Hullybeck. Although he wasn’t the most upbeat little youngster, he always tried to keep a smile on his face wherever he drew breath. Storky’s situation at home was quite troubling. The boy’s parents weren’t the most affectionate towards him and argued day to day, which made him upset. You see, Storky’s parents were overly career-focused, hard-working people and all they cared about was their work. His mum was a lawyer and his dad was a journalist (both of them had a very packed schedule). Of course, they would occasionally devote an hour per week to spend some time with their kid.
