Passes in Mathematics were not as commendable. The passes in Mathematics fluctuated during 2019-2023. Males commenced with 42% in 2019, peaked at 46% in 2020 and then declined to 32% in 2022 and then increased to 38% in 2023. In comparison, females started at 44% rose to 52% and then declined to 36% and then remained equal at 38% with the boys.
A curious observation is that when students performed well in English Language, their overall achievement, including Mathematics, also improved. Thus, English Language needs to be closely monitored as a gateway and indicator for student achievement.
Across all OECS Member States, girls consistently performed better than boys.
