An analysis of the institutional types by level reveals that the largest proportion of institutions is in the Early Childhood sector. These schools account for 51% of the total. This is further disaggregated by type, as shown below. Primary schools account for 33%, Secondary at 12%, Special Education 2% and TVET and Post Secondary education at 1% each as shown on figure 1.2. Within recent times, some institutions have been remodelled to afford additional coverage given the increasinly diverse needs of pupls. Consequently, some schools have had spaces converted into Early Childhood classrooms while others have had ramps installed and other equipment provided to allow for greater inclusivity.
