“Hi, good morning, what would you like to order?”

“Hey, um, could I get a large chai latte and some hot chocolate?” A gentle voice said, belonging to a girl with soft pink hair that resembled cotton.

“Alright, would you like anything else?”

“Mom, can I get a cupcake, please?” A little kid begged, face pressed against the glass. “I know you can’t see it, but it looks so yummy!”

“Sure, honey.”

“I’ll add the cupcake to your order then.” The barista smiled. “That’ll be 7 euros and 90 cents!”

The two paid and moved further to find a free table. A few minutes later, a darkly dressed woman walked in and approached the barista.

“Hello, what can I get you?” The worker asked, suddenly changing her attitude, tone colder.

“Good morning, I’ll have a black coffee, no sugar.”

“Anything else?”

The woman thought for a second, moved closer to the desserts and softly touched the glass, pointing at the sweets.

“Erm… Could I get three macarons?”

“Please don’t touch the glass, ma’am, we’d like for it to stay clean. But yes, I’ll add that to your order. Is that it?”

“Yeah.” The customer hummed, putting her hands back into her pockets.

“That’ll be 4 euros 20 cents.”
