Legend has it that Aldrich’s great-great-grandmother Anthea the III was a known witch throughout the continent. She had many names: Mother of Magic, the Caretaker of Creatures, but most notably, the Prophetess. Many pregnant women would come to her with hopes of blessing their children so that they grow up strong and beautiful, but Anthea wished her child to be the most perfect of all. She had an offspring Jerrick with one of the men from the village. She desired to gift all the world’s beauty to her boy, and to do so, Anthea used magic one too many times eventually leading to Jerrick’s passing. After he had departed this life, his spirit kept lingering and finally embodied a little child’s appearance.

Jerrick was not much of a talker; he was more of a listener, timid, and always around the prince. They both used to play together in the king’s throne room. The prince would fold paper planes whilst his companion make them fly. Since Jerrick was a ghost, it was their favorite activity. He could manipulate the wind only so slightly. Both of them always knew that one fateful day Aldrich would have to overtake the honourable role of his old Father. They did not have much time left, so every second of their childhood was extremely precious.
