The town Chris lived in was fortunately quite small. It meant he knew most of the kids living nearby. He ran towards the closest house that looked familiar. The snow was thick and bright, making the rest of his pants wet. The boy knocked on the door, impatiently waiting for an answer, only to face complete silence. Then Chris noticed how late it was, watching dozens of delicate snowflakes falling down from the dark, starry winter sky. He took a closer look at the houses around him. The rooms were dark and the Christmas lights were slowly blinking. It was apparent that no one was awake at such a late hour, making the boy sit down on the patio and ponder again. As Chris got lost in his thoughts, the snowfall got heavier and his body began to shake due to spending so much time out in the cold without proper clothing. He sighed and a small cloud of steam spread through the air around him. Chris could barely see anything through the thick fog of snowflakes, though he noticed an unusual shadow cautiously wandering around the corner. He tried to identify it but had no other choice just to come closer. Chris carefully crept
up behind the figure, trying not to make noise, though the snow made it difficult. As he approached the creature, its features became more and more apparent, revealing its nicely shaped horns, a short tail and delicate hooves. It was the
reindeer he scared off earlier! The boy started jumping in excitement and realised that he might make the same mistake. To his surprise, the reindeer stood beside him, not afraid anymore. Chris sighed in relief, feeling like he accomplished a good part of the task given. Though there was no time to waste, Santa was still stuck in his chimney and Christmas needed to be saved! At that moment, the boy came up with a genius idea: he would jump on the reindeer‘s back and try to fly it! It felt scary at first, but the animal seemed to be willing to help.
