I panicked and the sound of a scream awoke the neighbours. Flames engulfed our house. I found no excuse for our mum too… Why were we given for adoption? I was six and you were only two years old so you probably don’t remember that horror.”

John gasped in disbelief examining June’s face.

“June, your story explains why I have a burn scar on my leg.”

“Yes, it does. We were escaping the house when a piece of burning furniture fell on your leg. You got stuck but I couldn’t leave you there. I put all my efforts to push that burning piece of wood. It worked but it also left me a burn scar.”

June slightly rolled up her sleeve revealing the burn.

“Some people look at me as if I was a raccoon hybrid… Anyway, enough of that tragedy. Where were you all those years, John? I swear, I’ve tried to find you but unlucky.”

“Well, after the boarding school I moved a lot trying to find a place under the sun. I’m testing my hopes as a pizza delivery guy now. But at least we are here now, sister. And honestly, I never thought we would reunite in a place like this,” John’s face shined with happiness.

June sat beside John and put her head on his shoulder.

“Yes, the amazing reunion will change our lives forever!”
