Favourite Hole
The par four 18th is a seriously tough finishing hole , rising all the way to a tiered green . The tree on the right of the fairway has caused much angst .
Editor ’ s Tip
The wide variety of challenges calls for constant strategic reassessment , hole after hole .

Rathsallagh

Not a single tree was felled in the design of this course … emphasising how beautifully wooded and yet spacious Rathsallagh is . It ’ s like playing through a grand estate … one where tall solitary trees can prove utterly intimidating . And magnetic .
This is sweet , sometimes turbulent , Co . Wicklow countryside and that becomes immediately apparent from the clubhouse when you peer down holes 1 , 9 and 18 . As such , it promises plenty of variety with numerous stand-out holes ( 1 , 4 , 5 , 7 , 8 , 11 , 18 ). The par four 1st ( Index 1 ) is one of the best par fours you ’ ll face .
The beautiful Rathsallagh House hotel overlooks the course . The introduction of a new par three and new routing in 2017 has enhanced the course ’ s flow .
