4. “Verdala da gracias” community project for Thanksgiving

In preparation for Thanksgiving, the students from Kinder to Grade 5 reflected on what they are thankful for during their Spanish and EAL lessons. Then, each student was given a feather where they wrote what they were most thankful for. The feathers were used to create a colourful, bilingual mural entitled “Verdala da gracias” which is now displayed in the ES corridor.

These are some of the things our students are thankful for:

I am thankful for my family and friends.

I am thankful for my teachers.

I am thankful for fishing boats and the sea.

I am thankful for food and my home.

Doy gracias por mi hermano (I am thankful for my brother).

Doy gracias por mi gato (I am thankful for my cat).

Doy gracias por la vida (I am thankful for life).

Doy gracias por los animales (I am thankful for animals).

Doy gracias por los cohetes (I am thankful for rockets).

Doy gracias por el arte (I am thankful for art).

Doy gracias por mis padres (I am thankful for my parents).

Special thanks to Ms Johnna, Ms Laura, Ms Nancy and Ms Barbara for their invaluable help creating the mural. ¡Doy gracias por mis maravillosas colegas!

¡Feliz Día de Acción de Gracias!

Happy Thanksgiving! [Ms Ana]
