SPOTLIGHT ON

3. Grade 10 Drama Workshop

As a way of engaging with Shakespeare's 'Twelfth Night', Grade 10 students have been participating in a variety of workshops this term run by Mr Barker with the support of the other grade 10 English teachers. Students have been asked to channel their inner Viola, Orsino and Malvolio by bringing the 'text to life'. Activities have included: choral readings, modern day interpretations, the plot in 20 minutes and still-life families. All tasks were designed to enable students to 'make meaning' out of Shakespeare's work and in turn, engage with the plot, characters and language in greater detail.

4. Reading Across Secondary

One of the aims of the English department this year is to encourage the enjoyment of reading across Secondary School both through the Reading Rocks! Programme in MS and a book-a-month in HS. Pictured, our HS students enjoying reading! Keep it up!
