This distance learning course is for anyone who wishes to start a career in engineering or who may already be employed currently in the industry and would like to attain an internationally recognised engineering qualification . You will carry out mathematical solutions and apply engineering theory to a multitude of mechanical and electrical engineering problems and understand the parameters in which engineering systems operate .
Entry Requirements
One of the following :
Two Highers : One at Grade C or above in Physics , Chemistry or Technological Studies and Higher Maths at Grade B or above
Foundation Apprenticeship : Engineering SCQF Level 6
National Certificate : Mechanical Engineering ( including SWAP Access to Engineering )
Another relevant engineering course at SCQF Level 6 ( incorporating Maths Tech 1 and 2 ) accompanied with a good academic reference recommending articulation to a higher level
Industrial experience and / or other qualifications will also be considered

HND SCQF Level 8 Engineering courses
This highly sought after advanced level course offers you the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of commonly used and specialist welding processes and inspection techniques used within the oil , petrochemical , and nuclear industries .
Entry Requirements
One of the following :
One Higher at Grade C or above plus two National 5s at Grade C or above , ideally in Maths , a Science , or a Technology subject
Foundation Apprenticeship : Engineering SCQF Level 6
National Certificate : Fabrication and Welding Engineering SCQF Level 5 with a good academic reference recommending articulation to a higher level
Relevant industry experience and / or other qualifications will be considered on an individual basis
Further Study
HNC : Computer Aided Draughting and Design SCQF Level 7

This highly sought after advanced level course offers you the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of commonly used and specialist welding processes and inspection techniques used within the oil , petro-chemical , nuclear , and general fabrication industries .
You will understand industrial practice in your local industry , the use of materials , and the effects of processes on their mechanical , physical and chemical properties .
